FFAMM Emergers NetworkTM
Based on the Social Change Ecosystem by Deepa Iyer
FFAMM, Inc. works within an ecosystem approach for positive social change. Wherever we find ourselves, we must recognize our place and role in improving what happens there. Our organization supports those who focus and set to action to ensure that their environment reflects their values by purposefully creating community. We call them EcosystemEmergersTM.
I. EMERGE to CREATE COMMUNITY
"There should emerge from you, a group of people [unified by cause] who invite to all that is good, and encourage people to what is known to be right, and discourage what is undeniably wrong: Those are the ones who will have attainted success [after a long and tiresome labor]."
- An interpretation of the meaning of Ayat 3:104 in the Holy Quran.
The FFAMM Emergers NetworkTM honors EcosystemEmergersTM as critical for our collective wellbeing. They collaborate in roles that fit who they naturally are and who they wish to become. They are guided by a higher purpose to be of service and contribute to prosperity, for sake of Allah (God) - The Creator.
EcocsystemEmergersTM create community by shifting within ecosystems: Based on common interests, for collective right action and for mutual benefit. We are all here on a journey back to our Creator, who is the true owner of all resources. People, wealth, nature, all accessible resources are gifts which should be used conscientiously, after setting a shared direction on the journey.
II. COUNT ON CONNECTIONS NOT NUMBERS!
“In this exquisitely connected world, it's never a question of 'critical mass.' It's always about critical connections.” -Grace Lee Bogg
A healthy ecosystem has productivity that allows the living to thrive, resilience in the face of disruption and organization that facilitates growth. This requires high decrees of cooperation from within and collaboration from beyond the group. EcosystemEmergersTM nurture connections and depend on connectedness of (the few) people who are willing to fulfill the roles and be accountable. They also adapt to feedback from their environment so that precious collaborators continue to find value in participation.
III. RECOGNIZE ROLES & WHO PLAYS THEM
“If you don’t understand yourself, you don’t understand anybody else.” -Nikki Giovanni
Everyone plays a role in the ecosystem and often more than one. Within communities, as people change, so should their input. Sometimes, we must even allow space for stepping away. We believe in the importance of knowing how everyone works best and with whom. The FFAMM Emergers NetworkTM recognizes the following as commonly assumed roles in communities with the best operation and outcomes: Weavers, Experimenters, Frontline Responders, Visionaries, Builders, Caregivers, Disruptors, Healers, Storytellers and Guides.
IV. DISCOURAGE PULLS & CONTRADICTIONS
We work to discourage communities from placing emphasis on the following, in their ecosystems:

IV. DISCOURAGE PULLS & CONTRADICTIONS
We work to discourage communities from placing emphasis on the following, in their ecosystems:
- Posturing: Intending to impress or mislead
- Productivity: Maintaining constant performance and output at the cost of overwork, replication, martyrdom, and low impact
- Personality: Over-emphasis on activism-for-show and compromising for public-relevance
- Perfectionism: Expecting to get it right all the time and being afraid to own up to mistakes
